He got his first balloon at Trader Joe's this week. His face lit up when he saw it. He kept wiggling his wrist to make the balloon move and once he figured out I could pull it close to him, kept asking me to bring it close so he could stare at it. Then he took a nap with it in the car.

Oh, he's in for a great first-balloon experience, I'm sure; those Trader Joe's balloons last FOREVER. We had one for almost a full month before it started losing its gusto/helium!

I actually remember my first balloon experience. I was 4-5 and I went outside with it and it floated away. I was a wreck for a week, my dad says.
I was very careful with it. I was afraid that would happen. But I'm happy to say the balloon is still clinging to life weeks later.
