Rolling: The Sequel
Truman rolled the other way this morning and we caught the first one on camera. In subsequent rolls he gained a little more control of himself, but here it is for your viewing pleasure. Truman's first roll from back to tummy:

The Happiest Day of the Year* Part III
For our second anniversary yesterday Joe, Truman headed to India Palace for dinner, then saw the second Chronicles of Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. We ended the night with desert at Chez Danielle — a little French restaurant inside a hotel along American Boulevard.
* Due to sunlight and other factors, some scientist believe June 24 is the happiest day of the year. As it was the day on which we were married, we agree.

Welcome Khai!
Sarah gave birth to a beautiful baby boy June 21 at 6:07 p.m. Truman and I were there photographing and helping Sarah through the labor. Here is Truman at 11 weeks laying next to Khai Liam, less than an hour old. Khai and Truman were the same birth weight — 8 pounds 9 ounces.
Before we weighed Khai, he looked so small to me I couldn't picture Truman ever having been that size and even said "Truman was never that small."
Here's one more picture of Khai at two days old because I can't resist:

He's on a Roll ...
This is his fifth time rolling over like this, so I think I can start saying he know how to do it. He generally doesn't seem to be in much control of it, but he looks cute doing it.
He can't get from his back to his tummy yet. He is working on that.

Happy Father's Day
Here's a little video of our little man. Happy Father's Day to Truman's two grandfathers, his great-grandfather and his father, Joe.

Lions and Tigers and Bears ...
Well, actually, the bears were off exhibit. But the lions, tigers and other big cats were out in full force at the Como Zoo today in St. Paul. The trip reminded us how much Truman likes to be out and about. He was content just looking around and being part of the excitement of the great big world.
I think Truman was making the same face as that lion when we arrived:
We saw a tiger:
and a snow leopard:
and a mountain lion/cougar/puma:
We saw a giraffe trying to measure up:
and one happy baby Truman:
We also got to see a butterfly exhibit. Here we are waiting to get inside:
Here's a butterfly that landed on Truman's tush:
And here are some more lovely butterflies:
Sunlight made this one almost transparent. In the first photo you can see the designs from both sides of its wings. The second shows the bright blue of its inner wings.
Truman's day at the zoo ended in much the same way it began:

Two Months Old
Sometimes it's hard to believe he's two months old. It sinks in more every time I see a baby who is younger than him. Although it would be nice if he would take the occasional nap by himself, I'm very much enjoying motherhood and all the wonderful snuggle time I'm getting with Truman.
Truman's done a lot of growing in two months. He's holding his head up very well now and is a star at tummy time. He's even managed to roll over from his tummy to his back three times. He's also able to get from his back to his side and struggles to try to roll that way. He smiles often now and smiles when he sees me or Joe. It's been really great to watch him truly become aware of us. He's very interested in the world and enjoys being out and about more than he does being at home. Most of all, he's really chubbed up.
Here he is leaving the hospital at two days:
